National Seashell Day is celebrated on June 21st, the first day of summer. It's a day to appreciate and enjoy seashells and the marine life that creates them. The holiday was established in 2016 by Fort Myers and Sanibel to highlight the joy of finding seashells on beaches, particularly in Florida.

How to Celebrate:• Go shelling: Head to the beach and enjoy collecting seashells, but remember to be mindful of local ordinances and avoid collecting live shells.

• Visit a seashell exhibit: Check out a local museum or shell exhibit to learn more about these fascinating marine artifacts.

• Learn about sustainable shelling: Explore the importance of ethical and sustainable shelling practices to protect the marine ecosystem.

• Share your finds: Post photos of your seashell discoveries on social media using #NationalSeashellDay.
