Sand dollars live on the sandy or middy bottoms of shallow coastal waters, typically in temperate and tropical regions worldwide. They thrive in the intertidal and subtidal zones, often in large colonies, where they burrow just below the surface to hide from predators and filter-feed, particularly in areas with moderate currents. When we see them they are just the “bones” that have been bleached by the sun.
Sand Dollars are great for arts and crafts projects, home décor display, decorations, events, gifts, and jewelry making!
